I'm looking at buying a loader for my BX2200 and I'm being told by a dealer quoting a higher price that a dealer quoting me a cheaper price is selling me a cheap valve. He says that there are 3way valves only for loaders or there is a 4 way valve that would be nessesary if I ever wanted to mount a Blower up front. This appears to be a $200.00 upgrade if its correct info. Can anyone enlighten me

Have your dealer recheck his price book and resharpen his pencil. The upgraded valve should be a $40 to $50 additional charge when purchased with a new loader.

He is probably charging you labor to do the swap out, but on a new purchase that should not be necessary as Kubota has a different part number for loaders with and without the 4-way valve. Tell him to order the right loader.

Once you use the 4way valve you'll understand how necessary they are. The dealer should be willing to throw it in for no extra....

Listen to these last posts. They will save you money in the begining. After reading TBN I new I wanted a 4 position valve when I purchased the BX22. The unit had a 3 position on it, (bx2013). Dealer said, don't worry, when you get ready to buy a snowblower or snowplow, we will swap it out for $50.00.
Well later I went back for a snow plow and guess what...yeap..$588.00 for the 4 position (bx2014).!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Been looking for a used one ever since with no luck. Make the change now.

Your dealer is all wet on this...... you will only get the 4 way valve with the new loader, because the loader for the BX1800/2200/22 is now discontinued. The replacement loader is the same one that is mounted on the new model BX1830/2230/23 and is only available with a 4 way valve. The difference is that the newer style loader the valve stays with the machine and the loader is removed, unlike the older machines where you had a choice of removing the loader with or without the valve. If the dealer is quoting on a old design loader, then he must have on in stock, because I believe that they are no longer available from Kubota. Kubota continues to support the older design with parts.

BX2013 - 3 way hydraulic valve

I know that this valve was once used by Kubota to operate the LA211 loader found in the BX series tractors.

I am trying to learn more about the potential applications of the valve. For example, could this valve be used to operate two hydraulic cylinders on a rear (3 point) snowblower? More specifically, could it be used to control (a) the 2-way cylinder which rotates the chute, and (b) the 2-way cylinder that moves the deflector?
