Need hydraulic gauges.... which ones?

I
What has changed is I've found gauges for $19.00 and the "same" gauge for over $400...

I know some folks might mark their products up.....and I know there are qualitative differences.... If you're offering to ante up for the more expensive gauge.... I'll sing Merry Christmas for you.... but since I don't know anything about them, I'm trying to get some education to avoid either blowing $400 or, buying a piece of trash for $19.00

If you know of a 'decent quality' gauge that would work.... wouldn't it be much easier to simply say "try gauges by Jones and/or Johnson??" and be done with it? After all, that is all I'm trying to extract.... some brands that are ok and not trash.

In February I advised that I always bought gauges on price without disappointment. So again, nothing has changed. If I do not buy $400 gauges for my use the chances of buying them for you is quite slim.

Edit: Surplus Center, Bailey Hydraulics and Baum Have been sources for me depending on what else I happened to need at the time.

I bought a set off amazon, Vevor 3800,5800,9000 psi gauges 3 5' lines and 9 different couplers. U would have to get lower pressure gauge if the 3800 isn't accurate enough but I think it might be. I've used them on my Volvo excavator to set thumb pressure, work excellent. Just looked 87.00 and change. Well worth it in my opinion. B

First, a public thanks to CADplans, he had a couple duplicate gauges and sent them to me....refusing payment (including postage). Nice guy and classy gesture.

I contacted someone online about some parts for my IH. He said he had the "Connector" that I'd need to connect the gauge to the PTO port (as contrasted to using a hose) He wanted $60.00 for it.

I stopped by hydraulic shop other day on way home, had page from manual with me and showed it to them. "yeah, we can make that.....it has a BOSS 9 on it" (or a BOSS something or another size, but they had it)

I bought some other stuff but I think this was only like $15 for them to make the entire connector line.

Question... in the manual, it states to use "Oriface IH No. 384-328-R1" Would that infer their part number would reference a "BOSS 9" instead of say, a BOSS 10???

(for the record, I'm not saying this uses a BOSS 9, I forget what they said, I'm just using that as a reference)

Pic of what CADplans sent me along with the connector. I need to get a 300 or 400 gauge for the PTO still.

Probably a O-Ring Boss (or ORB) fitting (that is what it looks like).
They are usually is even numbers that equate to the number of 16ths of an inch for that fitting size (ie: a 1/2" fitting would be a number 8 ORB fitting).

You are right in that it's an "O" ring fitting. (I had never heard of them called BOSS however, there are many things I've yet to hear about I'm sure!!)

None the less... looks like I'm in business for the PTO removal/repair. If a 1/2" (wrench size) is an 8 ORB fitting, then that's what this is. The bolt on the tractor takes a 1/2" wrench and this is a perfect fit.

Now, if I can just get my process down to pull the PTO out. I've been warned that they're heavy but no reference was given. Guess I'll figure it out as early as this weekend.

Heavy like 100 lbs or so. I have seen guys handle the units by slipping a proper sized piece of pipe over one of the output shafts and handling them that way. Be careful not to bend the suction tube while removing the unit.
