NH TC18 gear
Hello,

My TC18 gear MFWD (no power steering) seems to have an excess of forward/rearward play in the pivot point of the front end. If I am setting still and turn the steering wheel back and forth the front end will move back and forth in the pivot point maybe .030"-.040", I think this is excessive.

Would someone with a service manual tell me what the specs. and adjustment proceedure are for the MFWD front pivot point.
I sure would be much appriciative for this info..

Thank you in advance for any help.

Looking at the manual quickly, it looks like the front should have no more than 0.008" and the rear should have no more than 0.006". This is the clearence between the front front axle pivot and bushing.. The wear limit is .0130". It looks like the only adjustment is to remove the front bearing holder and makeup the difference with shims. I'll get back to you in a little bit with the part #'s and some more information.

It looks like the shims come in a kit, the # is SBA395910030.
tinner you might want to check the clearance between the pivot shaft and the bushing no more than .006" the wear limit is .012". The bushing # is SBA398510090.
