Massey GC1720
Just wondering if anyone else has this setup and how the ran the wiring and where they placed the switch for the Massey 8300203 Electric Chute Deflector. Not to mention the back of the switch has 4 connections, which did you use? Thanks in advance.

I have a much older GC, but I believe the wiring for the chute deflector and its switch would be the same. Switch mounting is different, of course, as my "dashboard" is not like yours at all.

Assuming your switch is the same as mine:

1) being a 12VDC motor which needs to be reversible, all four terminals are used.
2) those "crossover" brass strips are what allow the terminals that go to the deflector motor to reverse their polarity (and change motor direction).
3) my switch is a momentary (spring-loaded) with a center OFF; you push up for one direction or down for the other. The switch itself is mounted vertically so the pushing for "up" or "down" is more intuitive. (My chute rotator is also electric, with its switch mounted horizontally, to rotate "left" or "right.")

Apologies for the horrible picture, but the way my switch is mounted, the rearward two wires (one of which has an in-line fuse) come from the battery (+ and -) to supply 12VDC to the switch; the forward two wires then go to the motor itself. Refer to the second pic -- power IN (12VDC) is on the bottom two terminals, power OUT ("LOAD") on the terminals in the center of the switch.

I'll also add a spec sheet on the switch I'm pretty sure is the one used.

Hope this helps --

Thank you! That’s what I was looking for. Where did you end up mounting your switches?

The dealer did the snowblower install -- the switches are mounted in drilled holes on the plastic faceplate, the rotator on the upper left and the chute deflector on the upper right.

My tractor's dashboard, however, is totally different than yours. You'll have to figure that out for your tractor.
