My TZ25DA. 240 whopping hours. I had trouble this past summer with the 3 point drifting down on its own. Checked what I could, and after dealer advice, took off my cab, seat fender, etc...pain in the (you know)...and took the hydraulic, 3 point assembly apart. What a job!!! I replaced the O-ring and wiper on the lift piston. Everything looked great, so I put it back together. It still drifted a little, but not bad. Long story short, It's drifting down now pretty quick. I can't go from my drive to my neighbors (400-500') with my snow blower not drifting down and hitting the ground!!! Any ideas??? To be honest, after this, the fender cracking at less than 200 hours and NH not standing by it, AND front wheel bearings going bad....I just don't know.... If I had the $$$ I would trade for something else....maybe even a different color? Thanks for any ideas....

From what you've done it sounds like something in the control valve circuit. Maybe a fouled check valve or pressure relief? I don't have a diagram or the machine to look at.

question.. is the 3pt handle itself drifting down.. thus allowing the 3pt lift to exhaust and drop.

if so.. look for whatever friction control that setup uses. on older fords it was a cork disc and a nut and spring combo.. on newer jap models it's a lil different setup, but still has a friction control and nut.. just in a different spot.

if the lever is NOT dropping, but the 3pt is, sounds like unloading valve and check valve have issues.. one is stuck and the other leaks..

The handle does NOT drift down. It returns to center.....This is driving me nuts!!! I wouldn't think it is/was the O-ring on the lift piston??? All that work for nothing???? Oh brother...... Any ideas??? By the way, when I turn the machine off with the 3 point snowblower up, and the hitch drops, (it drops while running of course too), you can hear the hydraulic fluid....don't laugh...."gurgle" in the rear end, like somewhere around the lift cylinder??? Thanks guys, for posting.

From what you are saying, you must not have position control on the TZ25. It seems you have a a control valve that returns to center and relies on hydraulic lock to hold the load. Is that right?

EDIT: I checked and your tractor does not have position control. Your hydraulics rely on a perfectly sealed system or they will leak down. Either your control valve or lift cylinder is leaking.

well that clinches it then.. a leak in the circuit between the valve and piston.

BTW, do you have a needle valve that adjusts how fast/slow the 3PH drops? If so, that might be adjusted closed to see if it helps.

guess that would help determin valve or piston.. etc..

exhaust valve anyway..

Thanks for the responses. If I turn the restrictor valve all the way closed, it still drops at the same rate. From a "fully up" position, when warm it will lower with the blower in about a minute! When I changed the O-ring and wiper on the lift piston, the shaft looked good. So did the old O-ring and wiper. I was VERY careful to re-assemble it CLEAN, changed the filter and used all new fluid. I really can't believe this is a common problem??? I just don't know where to go from here...
