need HELP trcator wont start!

i took my tractor (an 855) out to plow a little snow it ran fine.i went in the house for an hour came out it wont start.it wont crank or anything.just some clicking from what im assuming is the fuel pump.im a little mad this is the first time ive used it. i just bought wensday.

Need alittle more info on what type of tractor and trans and the temperature. Check your saftey switches. If its a HST trans you may need to center the pedal. make sure its in nuetral. and the clutch is all the way in.

its an 855,hydro trans,temp outside is about 25.there is no clutch on 855 just brake peddals.the saftey switch on the seat is not hooked up.i will check the peddals.when i first started it i wasnt sitting on the tractor.

Did yopu try using jumper cables? If it won't crank most likely cause is dirty battery connections-probably not the battery unless the fuel pump clicking stops when you try to crank. Troubleshoot it just like a car-turn on the headlights and see if they dim when you try to crank.

i also have an 855 that acts like you describe if the small wire on the front of the starter looses contact thru the push on connector. just takes a few minutes to take the engine side cover off and wiggle the wire/connector

ok i feel stupid.i did what dex suggested i pressed the hydro peddals back and forth and it started right up.this is my first hydrostat,you learn something new every day.i did first try to jump it.but didnt think it was the battery sense the fuel pump was on and the headlights worked.that and the fact it started fine when i first went out.
