My friend has an old Farmall H with loader (factory loader I believe). It has sit in a barn for decades and we don't know the condition of the engine, didn't try to turn it over or anything. It has been sitting outside for a few months because it was moved to get an old hay truck out.

Does anyone have a clue how to start pricing something like this? For pricing, let us assume the block isn't cracked and it isn't froze up. To the owner's knowledge, it was running when it was parked! I don't know what year it is. The loader should add value for a collector. Took a few pics earlier today:

Actually that is a find looks wise .

Price wise may be closer to $250 a ton sadly to say unless he can find someone wanting to relive the past. There are many show ready heavy old reconditioned tractors coming on to the market today.

I am in the middle rebuilding the engine on a 1948 19 HP Model B Allis Chambers.

We will make it work because it like the first tractor I played on then I started driving at age 5.

Just today I had a talk with myself at the shop and decided after this one is running I am going to spend my remaining time and money on living in the present/future. :)

I have seen H's in our part of the country sell for $800 without loader. Although I was raised on a tractor with that loader, I am one of the few lucky ones around here who didn't roll one. My dad built a very heavy weight box for the rear which was a big help. Neighbor across the road - rolled his and pinned underneath until his wife got home and found him. In pain walking with crutches for the rest of his life. That narrow front wants to plow in. My dad had one on this portion of the farm I bought from him in 1994 and I gave it away. I wanted no part of a loader tractor without ROPS.

I agree with Gale and Rick. It's barely worth more than scrap price. If you have a nostalgic connection, maybe twice scrap price. That outfit would probably weigh 6K/3T.

I hate to see these old tractors get scrapped, but that's the world we live in now. My friend has a scrap yard. When he gets a tractor he drags it up by the hiway and leaves it for a couple weeks. If no one contacts him it goes in the shredder. I've bought several pieces of farming equipment from him. Latest was a JD1508 batwing mower. I gave him $500.

Waaaaay more than I’d go on a definite non runner with a possible stuck engine. Virtually no collector value due to massive production numbers.

No flame intended, I agree.

Sorry, but a non running tractor is not worth much at all. And scrap value right now is down due to the Chinese tariff problem. If you want to get more than scrap value you'll be working on getting it running again and handy with a paint sprayer to put a new coat of paint on it. Personally I'd remove the loader off that thing anyway. It's probably more dangerous with it on than off anyway. (roll over)

Since so little is known about it, it's not worth more than salvage. $500. If you want more, then at least determine that the engine isn't stuck and that the block is not cracked. Then maybe $800.

Good luck
