A buddy once used a similar line about it not being the size of the boat, but the motion of the ocean. He was rebuked with "what good is a dingy in a hurricane?". Funny thing, we weren't anywhere near the ocean or even a lake at the time of the conversation. Never did figure that out....
Back to tractors, I would get a slightly larger than BX class machine. 7800 or B3030 or similar Mahindra, Kioti, JD, NH. If it is a seasonal place, mowing head high weeds will be less of chore. Get a machine that can handle 5 foot implements. Very common, cheap and big enough to get some real work done.
