Need help...looking for our first tractor...

we have 5.5 acres, with 700 feet road. 1 acre of garden, 3 acres of forest, a lot wood to move, few help working outside.
we look in new holland and they give us the option for a 4.9% interest in 84 month payments without down payment. Look to me that is a very good deal, however the tractor price is still high for us. we look the TC30HST with loader and tiller, and that is around 20.000.
Could some body tell us if this sound what we need (30hp)? and if that is a good or not deal?
Also is anybody overthere using a Kioti 30? how this work after many hours?

Welcome to TBN,depending on location, pricing is very regeional.The tc30 is more of a basic tractor, a more fair comparison would be the tc31da with the Ck30. I own a Ck30hst and its done everything ive asked of it.. Very solid, strong,and comfortable tractor. The Ck30 has been out since 03 and high end hours on TBN here are in the 500- 700 hour range. I havent seen any major issues with them. Feel free however to stop in the Kioti and
New Holland rooms , their are many ck30 members and Tc30 members whod be happy to answer any questions you may have in regards to performance and reliability. Id suggest you go test drive both the units your looking at and see how they feel to you ..Pricing is a concern for you so id say if your getting prices around 20k for the tc30 with loader and tiller, which sounds high to me, the tc 31da will be more money probably ruling that out for you. If your prices are similar youd be getting many more features with the kioti Ck30 then the Tc30. Both machines will get the job done though. Finding a good dealer will be your best bet, regardless of brand... Good luck

If money is tight, and you don't have alot of mowing or bush hogging to do, you could also consider the Kioti CK25 gear. Would mean a slighter smaller tiller. But would do the job. This machine with attachments should be way under the $20K you were quoted for the N.H. I have one, and love it so far.

But 30+ h.p. would be more ideal for your property. There are alot of options beside these, including Case, Mahindra, TYM, Branson, M.F. , Deere, and Kubota.

Do you need 4 wheel drive? Kioti still makes the LK3054XS it has 4WD. That is a good unit. Also if you don't need 4WD I would look at a 35HP Mahindra 3525. A new one should not cost over 11k. If you don't want or need a loader later you could use a 3325 at 9K. Those are new units with 3 year warranties I have been quoted. Of course the Mahindras are utility tractors and weigh a lot more.
