Mowing Need help if possible

Soundguy. Good question. It looked to me like it was rust although there were some pretty large pieces. How would you suggest I clean the tank out? I am all ears.

depends on if it is easy to remove, and how much you want to wrench on it, and if it is a baffled tank or not.

if not bad to remov eand not baffled.. then disassembly and agitation with a piece of chain and solvent int here, then chemical treatment for rust, and perhaps sealing would be somewhere close to the top of the list.

Sounds good. I will work on that. I am not sure what kind of tank or how difficult it will be to remove. Sounds like a winter project. I appreciate it.

Here is an update. My tractor ran fine for a few hours for some reason and then it started cutting off again. It got to the point that I couldn't crank it. I took it to someone to take a look. He said my fuel solenoid was burnt up. He replaced it. I jumped on the tractor yesterday morning and it started cutting off again after about 30 minutes. My mechanic came out to the scene. He said it had to be elecrtrical. We searched every wire on that tractor to make sure nothing was loose. We ended up getting a little help from our local John Deere people and after about 30 minutes of scratching their heads, we finally figured it out. (We believe). It is the relay that drops the voltage on the solenoid. We tested the voltage and the solenoid never drops from 12 to 4 volts like it should. That is the reason the first one was burnt up. We rigged it for the day for me to finish planting my plots and it is being worked on next week. Hopefully that will end the mystery of my shut down problems. Thanks everyone for all of the help.
