A museum in Calif recently received a 1932 Available with a moving van body, and they have two problems:
(1) they can find no model ID tag/stamp on the truck; and
(2) the Calif title sez the engine is a "1940" Wauk (apparently put in in 1940)
So far they've uncovered "60 BM 30 F-680258-464-5-" with maybe more numbers to be uncovered. Wauk 6BM's were in use in 1940, but the "60" doesn't seem to fit (a "Q" 6 cyl was in use, but the "O" doesn't look like a "Q".
Inquiries to Dresser have gone unanswered.
Does anyone out there know how to decode Wauk's engine numbers??
I've posted to aths.org, antiquetruckclubofamerica.org, ytmag.com and to
yesterdaystruck.com with no luck. Any help, advice or leads will be deeply appreciated. Pls reply to pitybud@msn.com. Many thxx!!
