At work the wife can purchase a copy of office 2013 for school use. I'm having a hard time tracking down requirements on the specific product number being offered. it also mentions 32bitx64 unsure if that means it is 32 bit, 64 bit or both?

I'm trying basically to find what OS it wants, and proc speed, memory.. etc.

The wife uses an xp laptop and netbook for school .. so seeing if this is a waste or not. currently running office 2010 etc.

Microsoft - Part#: 79P-04515

i googled that # and got places that will sell licenses.. but no specs on it.

thanks

thanks, that answers it.

NO xp support.. and that's what it'd have to run on. :)

thanks

Just out of curiosity, why bother upgrading?

Heck, I'm using Office 2002 and Office XP (2003) at home....Office 2010 at work.
More flashy stuff with the newer version, but for the grunt work, the older versions work fine...

I have a copy of Office 97. Ya never know!
Office 2013 specs don't say it won't run on XP - just not in the "supported" version list.

Edit: It won't run on XP or Vista.
Why can't I install Office 2013 on Windows XP or Windows Vista?

I think Microsoft is screwing the pooch here....there is a pretty good percentage of individuals and companies still using XP with no intentions of upgrading. Vista was a disaster...I've heard some good things about MS 7 and nothing good about MS 8.
