I bent my trailer jack by driving over a stump and the bottom of the jack hit the stump and bent the jack bracket backwards. I have been able to grind out the welds on the ends of the bracket and clean them up but I don’t know how to bend the thick steel bracket back to its original position. You can see where the front edge of the bracket has separated about 1/2” from the bottom of the side rail. I have beat on it with a sledge hammer, tried to bend it with a lever, etc but I can move it. Anyone have any ideas how to bend this thick steel bracket back? Thanks

It appears the entire angle iron is bent at the 90°. If you want it back original, I suspect you need to remove the jack, cut out the damaged angle iron and replace with a new section. Trying to bend it back to the original position is not possible while in that position due to "rebound" after contacting the frame.
FWIW, I used a 24' flatbed trailer for about 12 years with a bent jack mount and never encountered a problem.(lesson learned, raise jack completely) Looks is the only issue IMO.
Just be happy the jack tube isn't bent, or you'd be unable to use the trailer until replaced.

Since the angle iron bent, that face is now longer than it was before bending. It will not bend back into position. You could clamp it very firmly and then weld it, but it won't bend back to where it was and stay there.

Take the Jack handle off then slide a long piece of pipe over the jack. Push top of pipe towards rear of trailer.

Don't bother. It's going to be far easier, quicker and end with a better quality product if you just cut it out and weld in new. Won't cost that much either. All you need is a couple feet of whatever size angle that is. Looks like 4x4x1/4" or so. If I were you, I'd remove that jack and replace it with one of these on the side of the frame. 2000 lb 10" Top Wind Trailer Jack Round Tube Northfield RD200-TWS-TMR-PZ [300134]

Lots of ways to force the bracket back into position so it can be welded back in place.

But I much prefer the movable/removable kind as mentioned above.

Ratchet strap or chain binder around top of tube & haul back to rear of trailer? If you bend the tube, you'll be looking for a new jack anyway, if it gives you enough leverage to lay in some c-clamps for the last bit then decent penetrating welds, you saved yourself the cost of angle iron ... lol. You always need more clamps & straps/binders anyway. A decent sized C-lamp might do it on its own, or if the tongue is heavy enough, a bottle jack under the angle iron posited to move in the direction you want. Not sure what all ends they have, but a cheap HF porta-power hydraulic body work bender would also get you what you want.

Why is this one on the side of the frame better than the kind I have?

Partially because you only need to crank it a little bit before pulling the pin and turning it 90 degrees to horizontal, completely out of the way.

It's also usable in other places, if buying/making more of the mounting tubes, such as supporting the rear of the trailer. Might even work for changing a tire but I've never tried doing that.
