I've got antifreeze leaking down the exhaust side of the block on my 580B diesel...only leaks about 1 drip per every 5 minutes...but it is definitely leaking from somewhere up by the exhaust manifold. I haven't run the tractor for 4 weeks now and it continues to leak; probably a couple quarts total now. I'm thinking head gasket, but before I tear into it I thought I would seek out some help.

Any suggestions?

Theres a freeze plug in the back of the head I beleive - maybe check that, or try some stop leak as a temp fix. Any water in the oil? Does it stop once its running/heated up?

Thanks for the reply Carl!--- I found out today that mysterious green fluid running from the engine was diesel fuel! I had antifreeze stuck in my head and never gave it a second thought. After I cleaned the gunk off the engine I could see a slow leak around one of the fittings in the fuel line. Tightened that up and all it good.

Thanks again for your help!
