regarding: current value of Kubota L3000D-3

Hello. My wife and I recently went into contract on our first home together (yesterday actually) ...and the property owner is looking to sell his equipment separately. My limited experience with tractors on my grandpa's farm is with Massey-Fergusons, and he was the one that maintained the equipment, not me.

At any rate, the seller is giving us first pass at everything and I was curious if you guys knew whether this seems like a good enough deal to bite on.

Mac 72" Mowing Deck
Model MAC GM-RD-72

TSC 60" Tiller
Model TSC

TSC Power Edger
Model TSC

King Culler 48" Finishing Mowing Deck
Model L48-40-P-B

No model # given

Most items purchased Spring 2011. Asking price $10k for all items.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

I met the owner in person, and I can't imagine that anything he owns would not be properly maintained. I'm expecting that -unless someone else abused them- these items are all in top shape. Naturally, some of those attachments are from Tractor Supply, so I'll have to dig in further to see what they're worth. But, as far as the Kubota tractor - do you think that 10k is in the ballpark for everything he's including?

I've found that the L3000 was a 2002-2003 model, but I haven't been able to find any information on what the L3000D-3 is. Does anyone have information on the "D-3"?

Thanks a lot for your time and knowledge.

I don't know if that's a good deal or not. However, I would suggest you keep the real estate and personal property as 2 separate agreements.

i generally value used but in good condition implements at about 50% new cost unless they are truly unused or mint, in which case 75-90% could be in order, or if they are heavilly used.. then 25%.

They're separate. We have first chance at the equipment since we are purchasing the property that it maintained

Oh, duh!

Does the "D-3" at the end of the model number mean that it is a 3 cylinder diesel? That would make the most sense to me.

I would say that it is a deal. Tractorhouse currently has 4 L3000Ds listed. 155hrs @ $12000, 165hrs @ $10.500, 300hrs @ $12,500 and 333hrs @ $8995. No implements listed for any of them. Pick the worst case at $9K and figure $1K for all the attachments and you have a bargain.

Just noticed, the $9k unit does not include the FEL while the other three do.

No comment on the price, but does the tractor have a loader? Also, I would guess the D actually means DT which is 'dual traction' or kubota's way of saying 4wd. DT also implies that it has a manual transmission. The -3 is just the model revision, sometimes Kubota makes updates to tractors without making a new model. Then they just designate them -1, -2, -3 etc.

I didn't see a loader when I toured the property, but there is a forklift attachment for it. I remember seeing it in the corner, but I didn't pay too much attention to it. An FEL isn't listed in the equipment, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

We've been preapproved for a USDA loan for the property, so if we get final approval, I'm thinking we might be able to use what we had set aside for a downpayment on the tractor and attachments.
