Backhoe Need backhoe

I need a backhoe for several projects. I need to remove several large old stumps an also some work on a two acre pond. I have a Kubota M5700 with cab and I'm trying to figure out if I would be better off getting a backhoe for it or just buying a used larger backhoe. Has anyone had any experience with a backhoe on a M5700 with cab.

Someone else may be able to answer your specific question. I am wondering however, given that you have a few discrete tasks for a backhoe, why not rent one? I imagine a properly sized BH for the M series would cost somewhere in the $7-10K range (given that a BH for a B or L series costs 5-7K). You could sure rent a pretty big machine and not stress your tractor and still save money. Whatever you choose, good luck.

The smaller Back-Holes are nice to have, I got one on my
47hp Branson.
But for heavy work like you mentioned go for the older
heavy machine.
I wish I had of done the same thing!
For the price of a hole for your tractor you can buy an older one
that will do a LOT more!
Also you can keep your other one free for other jobs
without removing the B/H all the time.
I have 2 tractors and 75% of the time I'm useing both
of them on the same job....
By all means get the older heavier B/H
You'll find that having 2 machines is twice as good as one /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks so much, that reaffirms my thinking. Theirs an auction the last of February. (Backgate Auction) an I hope to find a bargin. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
