Need an 855 front mower bracket

I have an 855 and have a 60" belly mower that I just reconditioned. I found out that I have a front mower bracket for a 755 and I need one for my 855, mine is too short. The part number is AM102158, it attaches to the tractor. This bracket accepts the front drag links off the mower. My JD dealer sells this thing for $98.00 and I'd like to find a used one for a better price.

Please let me know if you have one and what you want for it.

Any idea how much longer it needs to be? You (or someone close) maybe could extend it for you? I would/will if your nearby.

Picture a J, my (755) bracket comes down off the tractor and connects to the mower with a straight J shape. One of our members, Dan, was kind enough to send me some pics of his 855 and MMM setup. I noticed his bracket looks like a J but the hook of the J is extended or stretched backwards an extra 2" or so as compared to my 755 bracket.

I assume that it might take more than $100 to cut my bracket, add material and weld it back up the 2" or so, like the 855 bracket. The other problem is my JD dealer doesn't have a detailed drawing of the 855 bracket, so I flying blind. I could ask Dan to trace his bracket, but I think the easiest solution is to find one our members with a busted mower deck and buy his bracket. If not, I think I'll be welding a solution, but I'm not crazy about doing it.

For a refurbished deck, just spend the $98. I know the money sucks, but it will fit perfect and look good with the "new" deck. Besides, the grass is growing quick!

Today, I swallowed my cheap gene and ordered a new bracket from my JD dealer. Hate to pay full price, but I need to get this thing squared away. I sent out a dozen feelers to all the tractor salvage yards I could find, no dice. So, I should have the new bracket in on Tues.

Sounds to me like you did the right thing. Seems the green price is high, but in the end - not so high that skirting around the purchase is frustrating and stressful.

Hope you are up and running through the grass now. How about a pic or two?
