need advise ,switching oils,drain filter?

I AM DOING MY 100 HR CHANGE,and switching to synthetic,Do i need to take off the filter,and drain it? is there enough in there where it is sideways mounted to bother with?the filter is a bear to change,dont want to mess with it if i dont have to.

Switching to synthetic is a good idea… why not change the oil filter with every oil change? I would get a filter end ‘socket type’ wrench a clean filter will be nice to send that expensive synthetic oil through. KennyV.

Change the filter..it is cheap insurance.

It's not going to hurt if you don't change the filter, but, I would change it. It might be a pain to do... but you don't have to do it that often and it's always a good idea to change the filter when you change the oil.

Well you can change the filter as everyone states, but then if you go by the manual on your BX23, you do not have to do oil filter changes everytime. Do what makes you happy (either change the filter or not).

I went to the dealer tonite and bought a couple filters,even before i read the replys.I guess we are are all on the same page.I just couldnt bring my self to change the oil and not the filter,like the book says.THANKS FOR THE REPLYS FOLKS
