If you want to simply make a trail across the swampy area (heed the earlier warning about "registered wetland") - simply get some fill and put it down as you go. If you have fill that you can take from another location you can save some money. You'll want a couple of pipes across the path to let water flow. Only needs to be as wide as the tractor. When working in the woods, small is good if you want to leave little damage.

I'm partial to the Kubota B series - the small frame is easy to work on/with.
