I own a 20 acre property and a tree service & landscaping company. My primary need is a tractor to load brush and logs, onto a dump trailer. With my business, I also clear snow from parking lots, brushhog, and do light dirt work. At my property, I need a machine that can run a 6 foot tiller, small plow, box blade, and dig a small pond.
I will eventually buy a more specific machine (track loader) for loading brush, but for now my budget demands a machine that can multitask. Three years ago, I purchased a 2011 MX5100 and sold it last year, it was almost perfect. I was left wishing for more loader lift capacity, but I am sure I would do that no matter the lift capacity. I require at least one remote, 4wd, and no cab. I also don't want HST but prefer a shuttle shift.
I currently need to find a tractor quickly, as the busy season is quickly approaching. In my area, John Deere and Kubota are about my only dealer options. My budget is $20,000.00, but for the perfect tractor I am willing to go higher. My local John Deere dealer has a 5055E with 35 hours for $27,000.00, with 1 year of warranty left. New Mx5100's are about $27,000. Used Mx5100's with about 50-200 hours, run about $20,000.
Should I go with the Mx5100, a different Kubota model, the 5055, or a different Deere. Above all else it must be orange or green, it must lift at least 2000 pounds, and it must be 4wd. The positives with the deere are - already has a remote, dealer 3 miles from my house, and more loader lift. The negatives - no shuttle shift, $7,000 more dollars. The positives for the used Mx5100 - shuttle shift, $7,000.00 less. The negatives - dealer 30 miles away, 600 pounds less loader lift. Positives for the new Kubota - Full factory warranty, 0% financing, ITS NEW. Negatives for the new Kubota - will depreciate 4-6,000 quickly, $6000 more than a used one.
Thanks
