I need to add a CUT in the 35-50 hp range to my lineup. I was origanlly thinking of a Kubota L48, but after posting in the owning/operating forum I learned that machine isn't the best for what I want to do with. I am familar with Kubota, and Case IH (NH as well) line ups in this size range, but have no idea what models I should be searching for in the other brands. I am looking for something no older than a 2000. Can somebody help me with the models for Kioti, Massey, Branson, Mahindra and TYM?

Thanks,
Phill

I assume you have checked out the websites for the various tractors you are intersted in. Do you have a price point?

For Kioti you might want to look at the DK series with the DK35, 40 and 45s. These are pre 2007 models, are all gear, and are obviously only available used.

In 2007 Kioti updated the DK line and came out with DK35se, DK40se, DK45se and later the DK50se. Those are either gear or HST.

A year or so ago they came out with the DS line which is basically the older DK model with upgraded engine and loader but no HST.

All of the above are very good values and solid machines. Of note, Bobcat now sells the new DKse line and calls them the CT335, CD440 etc. Different paint, same tractor but the loader/BH are different.

What are your requirements for the machine? The Kioti's will give you a major tractor mfg, excellent performance, and lower price than the big 4. The DK55, maybe more hp than you want is a very good utility tractor. The DK 45 is very good also and can be had as a gear or HST machine depending on what you need to do.

Yes I have checked out the manufacturers websites, unfortunately that only gives me info on current models and Tractordata flat sucks. i really don't want to buy new, I think I can definitely save some money by looking for used. This tractor's primary job will be running a 8' Harley Rake windrowing debris in my produce and ornamental grass blocks, and then picking up the windrows with a rock bucket on the FEL. Other duties will involve occasional use as a yard loader, running a rototiller and flail mower, as well as grading the lanes/waterways I have between the blocks. Ideally the machine will have two hyd outlets in the back as well as 3rd function hyd on the FEL.

Thanks,
Phill

Older fixum up tractors are definitely a bargain. Used Ag tractors are definitely a bargain. A four year old out of warranty Kubota, JD, NH, Mahindra, Kioti etc hold their value well and is not necessarily such a bargain compared to new. Generally people seem to try to get within a few thousand bucks of what they paid and what you get for that is a tractor with a couple hundred or more hours on it with no warranty, no discounted financing and no dealer relationship. If I were saving $6000 I'd consider such a "deal" but for a few thousand off what a dealer would charge for a new one it really doesn't make as much sense IMO.

Do you alredy have a skid steer?
The choices of used SS is usually much better, but it's not so great for your rotortilling and mowing chores.
