Need a high quality 0 - 200 lbin Torque Wrench

If you select the clicker type, no matter if it's inch pound or foot pound it's important to have them calibrated from time to time. Believe me, nothing stays the same.
A 3/8 drive inch pound wrench will work nicely for you.

12 inch pound = 1 foot pound

You are nuts:confused2:

Several uses for a in-lb wrench. that cannot be done with regular wrench just because it is short:confused2:
My small value torque wrench is usually experience. If Im running scared its a wrench, ruler, pull scale, and calculator. For 20 to 300 ftlb I have actual torque wrenches. Above that its impacts, and/or cheater pipes -- with experience again. :D

I dont know about that sears stuff anymore. I was taking off a lug nut from my van and the head of my new 24" 1/2" drive craftsman breaker bar snapped in half. What a piece of %$#@.
Back to sears on Monday....aggggggg. Ill add the 3 screwdrivers with broken tips and the ratchet wrench that wont ratchet to the pile.

I have several of the Craftsman torque wrenches. I think 2 are the microtorq and one that's a step down but still a click style. When working QA for a passenger train company I would bring them in once a year and calibrate them. Actually I just checked them because they were never out of the acceptable limits.

Over all I would say for the money they are good. But I also don't leave my precision measurement equipment out in the garage. Things like calipers, dial gauges, torque wrenches, digital RPM meter, they all stay inside where the temp and humidity are more consistent. But what's the point of having a torque wrench if you have no clue how accurate it is?

Good point about storage - I'll be keeping mine with my mics, dial callipers & indicators, etc in a cool, dry place.

The point of usiing the torque wrench that may not be entirely accurate is that it will be consistent. When torqueing down a head & gasket, getting the same torque on all the bolts is more important than the actual amount of torque applied, as long as you are in the ballpark. It's a question of precision vs accuracy :

Basically, I don't want to use a shotgun to do a rifle's job.

Picked up the wrench at Sears last night. Cost less than buying it on eBay + shipping; add to that seeing before I buy + instant gratification and I have no regrets. Got it home and read the tiny-tiny-type instructions and got a headache.

After snapping off three pulley bolts on a Mazda I reread the instructions, then went to NAPA to purchase the proper torque wrench.:( I'm a slow learner.

I don't remember what it cost, so it must not have been too bad.
