Need a Gravely Model L Mechanic near Richmond, Virginia please

I have a 1952 Model L which I have used for last 5-6 years. I hate to scrap it. It now needs repairs (Clutch,ring gears, etc. not sure) Engine starts fine. I hope to find someone near me who knows them and may have some spare parts and will do repairs at a reasonable rate. The local shops way to pricey. I already have some extra parts and can drop off. This is not a rush job so a shade tree mechanic who wants to help me save this tractor would be appreciated!

Hi Gregg, welcome to TBN! First, you might try posting in the "Two-wheeled tractor" sub-forum where the Gravely guys hang out. Next, check with Richard's Lawn and Garden in Spencer WVa. They're not cheap, and they're not real close, but they are experts with all things Gravely, especially the old Ls. They can help diagnose issues over the phone. Error

Used l models are fairly common on Craigslist, at least up our way. Maybe find another not all wore out to cannibalize? Some were beat on, some kept but not used overmuch. Good luck.
