OK, I found a listing for a similar truck:

I think that website that you're getting these trucks from CompactTractorFan is a little too proud of their trucks. The second truck is overpriced as well. It wouldn't be too far off if it was a 4x4, but with only 2 wheel drive, I wouldn't be interested in it. The Powerstroke motor is a nice improvement but as Dmace mentioned, as a government vehicle it's going to have a lot of idling time on the motor. I've seen much better deals locally in this area, even for well maintained pickup based dump trucks.

Frame paint and some polish does wonders. Also doesn't mean the trucks are worth much at all.

If interested, the 87 in my avatar will be going up for sale. Plenty of frame paint and polish too! Half the price of those two and twice as much the polished turd!

1 ton dumps that have plowed snow for municipalities are endless money pits. I have hardily learned my lesson and will never do it again. Rust and corrosion have done them in and destroyed them silently and inconspicuously. Buy them for a deal thinking they can be fixed, but you can't work fast enough to keep the gremlins at bay. Besides every fastener being rusted to a smaller size (flame wrench only), the oddest stuff seems to disentigrate.

If I ever buy one again, it will be either new, or from a private estate owner who winters in Florida.
