Hello,

If we have measured it correctly, we need a 5' 2" long sickle bar for our McCormick #9 hi-speed horse drawn mowing machine. Does anyone have any links to any websites that sell replacement parts for old McCormick horse drawn equipment??? If you have one for sale, please contact us. We are having trouble even finding where to start looking for one.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

I am assuming you have a #9 with a 5' foot that needs rebuilt.

The difference between a 6' and a 5 ' is only length - often the cheapest option is a 6' cutter bar and a hacksaw (I have several 1' sections laying round)
You can get most of the needed parts at Tractor Supply, cutter bar, individual knives, rock guards (it is easier to replace the whole rock guard than it is to replace the cutter knife which is riveted to the guard itself). There is a 1 1/2 tooth cutter knife you can use at the outboard end - when all your clearances are correct, almost no clogging. Also check out the more aggressive "Barracuda" knives - much easier on the horses.
Take your time to getting cutter bar, rock guards and cutter shims in adjustment with minimum clearances.

I have rebuilt a half dozen of these, figure 300-400 dollars for all new knives, guards.
