Neat, Compact, Expensive Dozer

Pretty neat machine...not sure if it is worth the $52,000 for the base unit though...

Then again, I seem to feel that everything in the supermarket is expensive too... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

It doesn't look very impressive for the money, but the "Backhoe Madness" down the page is cool. Next time I need to crawl into a hopper car, that's how I'll do it, for sure.

I agree Henro, not sure if it's worth that price, but then everything is so expensive now. I get sticker shock almost anytime I buy anything anymore.
Hobbyk, thanks for the intersting post. I'm always amazed at the number of different dozers and other equipment that's out there. JOhn

I think the fact that they are charging $150 for a 10lb fire extinguisher shows that they are a little on the high side on all of the posted prices. I'm sure that they post high prices so they can give you a discount.

"Backhoe Madness" from the "more pictures" link is indeed crazy - candidate for "Genius Of The Week" in the safety forum if you ask me...

Hey Henro,
I know what you mean, everything is at least a buck and up! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Hello aloha,

I've got a feeling about this guy - that he walks out of his shrink's office when he calls him crazy! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

KiotiJohn,
I agree with you and Henro. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Of course, it's not worth the price. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif But, think what the price of the same amount of work done manually would cost. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Besides, this is like putting your tax dollars to work.
The dozer looks like each unit is its own animal, ie shop built, one at a time. No two are the same. Parts must be a nightmare to come by. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Morning Mike,
I doubt if you'd get a discount on one of these. That would be like asking for a discount on a Ferrari! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You know, "Backhoe Madness", I'm surprised we haven't seen Hollywood put this stunt in a movie, or crazier yet, some new sport - Extreme Backhoe Dancing /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Just a few years ago, rockcrawling with your 4x4 was unheard of, but now, the nuts have rubber tire tracks all over the place in the great outdoors. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re. "Backhow Madness", didn't anyone ever tell the driver that they do make equipment for emptying a rail car?

That guy is nuts...

And he is using it.
They are specially designed backhoes for emptying railcars.

Howdy KirkMcD,
Well I'll be switched!!
I knew somewhere, somebody would know about this. Just like I said before, TBN is an awesome network of knowledge. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

But, this backhoe has almost hijacked this thread /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif about the SWECO Trail Dozer. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
