Will a DNA database for ID be far away?
Maybe they'll start installing a chip in us on birth. We should have seen this coming when they make us get social security #s at birth now.

Non-IT people vastly overestimate the ability for databases to 'talk' to one another.

If it keeps a better tab on all the illegals it will be worth it. All the data used is already collected on your driver's license by your state, so what's the difference?

I am also in favor of needing a photo id to vote as well. Here in Wisconsin there is SOOO much fraud perpetrated at the universities alone (thousands of votes), our state would have had very different results the past several elections. (same day registration, no id required /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif )

The information is already out there. So speak of your concerns and leave the politics out. A national ID system has been bantied about since the introduction of the SSN.

ReadID has more to do with getting authorities to speak with each other in a standard way.

Not only are "databases" difficult to talk with, but even those in the same agency may not talk, let alone DIFFERENT agencies and/or organizations.
