someone was trying to convert a propane furnace to nat gas? i can't find the post so i decided to just post this: i have a perfectly good nat gas furnace, i can ship anyone the parts off it if they want to use them to convert another furnace: we replaced it because the drip pan under the A coils rusted out, and it didn't cost much more to replace everything, rather than just the pan: i know that sounds stupid, it did to me too, but thats the way it worked out: i am going to keep the blower, other than that, the gas valve and burners or anything else is up for whoever will pay the postage.

You are aware that the drip pan is a part of the evaporator and not a part of the furnace itself correct? I would hate to replace any furnace that is working well and somewhat efficient just because of a leaking drain pan. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

yep, very aware: but when the best price you can find to put in a new drip pan is over $800, and you can replace the entire unit, which was over 17 years old, for about $2k: in my case i opted to replace the complete unit. at the time we where thinking about moving within a year, so the new air cond and furnace would have been a good selling point too: but plans changed. i couldn't believe the price to remove the A coil, put a new drip pan in and put it back..highway robbery, i think was my comment at the time.
