I like racing. I find the OCT in Nascar a bit overboard. And all the drama and rules now. But, there are no cars made with real frames ect that could be bought from the dealer, and then built for 200mph racing, like the 60's and early 70's.
Personally, I don't watch the big NASCAR races any more(for a long time actually). But, I have mentioned in other threads; the local tracks are great to go watch racing at. We have a well run dirt track ten minutes away, 25 minutes to the local drag strip, 45 minutes to a nice 1/3 mile paved NASCAR sanctioned track, an hours from 1/8 mile flat track motorcycle races. The famous Hangtown motocross track is 20 minutes away...
