Shiaura 5040T
After using my Shibaura 5040T tractor all day and turning off the engine after cool down and lowering the slasher and the front bucket. Coming back after half an hour and starting the tractor I have no hydraulics, checked fluid levels, there is no filter warning light. Any suggestions.

G'day Mate and welcome to TBN from Tassie.

It's got to be something simple/common if you've lost both your FEL and 3PH hydraulics... and there's no puddle on the ground. That leaves your open centre hydraulic pump as the culprit. I take it you've checked the fuse and wiggled all of the wires?

:welcome: to TBN
I was taught to perform the easiest things 1st which to me would be change hyd filter & if tractor has one check/clean sump screen.

I have seen cases where a remote valve has stuck open instead of returning to the center position and all flow is just being dumped back into the reservoir.
I agree that is is likely something simple.

Are loader and 3pt Hyds from the same source?

If the loader valve stays with loader when it is removed, I would look at the quick connects that connect that valve to the tractor. Make double sure that they are fully connected.

Well after removing the slasher and moving forward (scraping the bucket on the ground) I pulled the lever to raise the bucket and after some seconds the bucket started to raise, then at about 20 inches above the ground it dropped about 10 inches and held.

I stoped the forward motion of the tractor and began to raise the bucket. It hesitated for a few seconds and proceeded to lift the bucket. I excersised the bucket up and down several times and all was well, then I re-connected the slasher and once more no problem.

My only conclusion is this. the fluid level was a little low, but still on the dipstick and it only took 4 litres o fill completely, about one tenth of the total capacity. therefore it seems the most likely cause was;

> airlock in the system

>stuck control valve

Now all is well, thank you for your time.

Blackbeard.
