I believe this is true of the B and L series. Don't know about the M series, but anyway, if someone would be kind enough to post a pic of the headlight control switch from a B series Kubota, then perhaps someone else could answer the following question:

There is what appears to be a button in the middle of the lights switch, but it does not depress nor have any other function known to me.

Is this a template part for a horn perhaps? Does anyone know what this might be for?

Its been slowly eatin away at me and now I've about had my fill.

Doug, I had 2 different B series Kubotas and, like you, wondered about that button. Again, like you, I was just guessing it was for a horn that I didn't have. Or maybe it was just something someone at Kubota did to puzzle us.:D

I know what it is - it's a fluid replenish signalling device.

Push the button once, your wife immediately brings you out one beer. Press it two times quickly, two beers.....you can figure out the rest.

Both of mine were obviously defective from the dealer then and never got fixed, 'cause I tried pushing it several times and nothing happened.:(

That button really is a beverage summoning device. However, the wait is rather long from the time you push it until a Kirin shows up. You know the delays in oceanic freight...... That is why you show buy green. I push my American JD button and a Budweiser shows up about a minute later.

That's funny :D I push my Farmall-A button(that RED button), and a nice Pale Ale shows up. One time, a vaniila stout showed up. Now we're talking ;)

On my Kubota, I took that silly button off, and installed a horn. No Kirin ever showed up, but it is like Japanese Budwieser; we use Bud for slug and snail bait in these parts  I thought that fake button was the belly button originally too, but then realized it would be on the tractors belly, ie underside;)

Doug,
You guessed it, it's a horn button. Unfortunatley from what my dealer told me, it is not standard on USA models, just Canadian models. I don't remember what the price was to add the horn on my Grand L but I know it was outragious  so I bought the parts from NAPA and installed my own.

I'm from Canada - it's not a horn button, at least for us Canucks (seriously, all joking aside, the button does nothing on mine)

Are you sure it does nothing?
Does the dog get excited when you push the button? :D

It's a horn button according to my owners manual. It may not be standard on the Canadian models, but the button is a horn button. Perhaps the model year has something to do with it. I have a 2003 L model and it has it in the owners manual . My dealer said it was added for the tractors North of the border.

I have a Grand L Cab. I could be wrong, but the only factory parts I see that are needed to add a horn is the combination switch (horn, headlight, turn), wiring harness, the horn, and a bolt. The switch is $35, the harness is $4, the horn is $27, and the bolt is $2, for a total of $68. There could be a relay, but I don't see one listed in the parts book.

Brian, does your 3030 have a working horn?
No, I wish it did! I posted about this same question when I first got the tractor. I have the button, but it does not feel like I think a switch should, so I am guessing it is not one.
