There's all sorts of nefarious things people can do, and they are finding new ways to hack our computers all of the time.

A decent (free as long as you accept the UA) firewall will prevent any information leaving a personal computer that the owner/user doesn't want it to...can also be used to block up or down traffic from any particular entity or network etc...

hacking servers both HTTP and databases is another story...

what is UA? I'm way I'm familiar with the term doesn't seem to apply here.
