My wife left a bowl out this winter and it cracked...

Well, really it is a shallow kind of pot thing that has a bamboo water noise maker in it. She is wondering if the pot can be sealed to get another season's use out of it.

Tried to get a shot of the crack but it looks like I was getting a little help from Slinky and son. The crack is a bit over a foot. Thinking of cleaning it out and trying an epoxy?

Silicone caulk. If it will keep water out of your home, it will keep water in the bowl.

Sorry you're a crack pot.

No I mean I sorry to hear you pot cracked.
Just about ALL clay pots that I've seen on the market are NOT FROST PROOF.
If they are porous enough to soak up any water then when they get wet and there is a hard freeze the body of the pot cracks from the expansion of the ice.
I have heard of taking a new pot and soaking it in silicon solution to prevent the absorption of moisture. Never tried it.

Silicone....soaking it in that, sounds like it might help new pots. For the most part where we lived before the heat did things in. Noticed here that few things like pots do the whole winter out if they are not one of the tougher plastics.
