This past posted thread was just one step in my TUBE box project.:)

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/customization/201959-ways-smooth-inside-pipe.html

I was sitting looking at my new L 3540 tractor this winter, too cold, wet, and muddy to do much else. :confused2: Did have 3 good snow storms where I pushed snow for me and my neighbors but nothing like the mid-west and the east coast had.:D
One of the projects was where to put tools and/or tool boxes, so I browsed the past post and looked at a lot of pictures of others tractors and saw several that had made holders out of there hollow tubs on the FELs. This is what I ended up doing with mine. I used tail pipe material to make "tube Boxes" I think the included pictures are self explanatory.
Got question! Ask and all comments are welcome!
One thing, the rattle cans of paint that I got from my bota dealer, I was not proud of, did not want to stick, just touch it and off it came. I have rattle caned a lot in 40 +years in mill maintenance and this stuff did not stick no matter what I did!

Love this. Thanks for sharing. I know what I'm going to do next weekend!

Funny how the cat is in the bucket too. They are SO curious.

In the 3rd picture top row, that is a spring loaded pull pin, here is a link to one,( Pivot Point fasteners, clevis pins, cotter pins, quick release devices, cable assemblies, specialty fasteners, and new fastener innovations. ) I got mine local, and no I was not worried about drilling the tubes and threading them. :)

A little more detail. :)
In picture #5 you can see a hole drilled in the pipe that the pin drops into.
In picture #6 if you look closely at the 12 o団lock position of the face of the 典ube Box I took a thin cutting wheel and put a mark on the tube face and the box, match these up and the pin snaps home, box is secure!

If I am going to be at my bench working on something, like assembling a carburetor. I have to put her in the dog kennel or she will be in my face and parts begin to disappear, little springs and such, or that is who I blame for that. :)
Sometimes even when she is looked up, parts and tools become missing also. :D
I do not know how she do that!!:laughing:
