My Trip to Power Trac

Should I be gratified that PT has made so many 'improvements', or distressed that after building these for so many years they still don't seem to know what will work best!!??!!

You should just be happy you got one! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

( Does it appear that changing the oil filter and engine oil filter to be easy? Could not see either one in the pictures so I assume they are below and to the side of the pump (oil filter) and the engine oil filter is on the lower side of the engine.
PJ )

The oil fitler seems to be pretty easy. It is located on the right, just in front of the engine. The Engine oil filter, although accessable, is a little harder for a big person. I'm 6'-3" 250lbs, so you can imaging that I do not fit in some spaces that the lucky little guys do, /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Overall, I think everything is pretty accessable though and I'm very happy /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

LoL 14, yes the wheels are too close together, but will be spreading out sometime in the near future. "I wanna be like 14".

Yes, that is a stump grinder. I will probably entertain reversing it in the near future. The only chips I want near my face are the ones I eat.

Yep, that is good old rich Lancaster County Dirt. You should see the topsoil that comes out of here. Something like Moss's...

( Very Nice!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice array of attachments, too. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif )

Thanks Moss. Your web site was encouragement for me. It's amazing that I was able to get all of those attachments and the 425 for what I sold my 4200 for.

If you look close at the left side picture, you can see my neighbor up on the hill blowing leaves with his 4200 Turbo Diesel. Pretty powerful little tractor.

/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Oh I am, I am!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Not only did I get a great tractor, but a whole new hobby of changing, improving, modifying, customizing, correcting, reworking, redesigning, adjusting, repairing, maintaining, using, and posting about, my beloved PT-425!!!!

I now believe that my PT-425 is nearly perfect, BUT, while it has become less like the 2/4 OEM, the 11/4 OEM is even less like the 2/4 OEM, or mine!!??!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Apparently we are on different revision paths together!!

Here's a video of me using the pallet forks to move a pretty big log. It shows my inexperience in playing, oops, I mean working with the new tractor. By the end, I got the hang of it though...

VERY large file, so right click and save as (22MB)

Moving a Log with the PT 425

I really amazed by the power of this little tractor in lifting things!
