My Tajfun EGV 30A Logging Winch!

Just got around to posting, have used the winch for three weekends and its a life saver. Rated at 6614 lbs with 200' of 10mm wire, and weighs in at 518 lbs.

The Tajfun is heavier than a Farmi 290 and comes with a little more cable.

Anders at Scandinavian Tech was great to work with and was happy to take time to give me a few pointers after I had tried it out.

Been getting a load of cedars ready for the mill, here's some pictures of my war on cedar trees.

Sparkkky, not to many of us B21 users here. Is the tractor handling the winch well? I sure would like a logging winch for some light work. If you don’t mind me asking what is the price range of your winch?

Mark, cost is around $2300.00. B21 handles it pretty well, sometimes on heavy pulls I crank up the RPM's, sometimes I wish I had more PTO HP but most of the time its fine.

I do not limb all of the cedars, only the ones big enough to sell so sometimes the limbs will dig in and make a pull hard.

Really no problems with 100" logs limbed and ready to go on the big ones I try to stick to a couple at a time.

Thanks Sparkkky, that seems like a good price compared to other winches I have looked at. PTO horsepower is what I was wondering about. I truly find my B21 to be an outstanding tractor but it is a bit weak in the PTO department. You sure have me thinking.

Now if you would drive your tractor down to Georgia and show the wife how much we need a winch I’d be right grateful. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mark, anybody that lives in a place called Cedartown MUST have a winch!!!

As someone pointed out to me that the requirements say Min. 16 HP not PTO power. If I had more power I would turn over my tractor or something like that, so I just see it as a safety factor.

Have been able to get everything done I want to, just makes me wonder if I can until its done.

Spark - I've been looking at the literature and talked to the fine Gentleman, Anders Rosenlund in ID about the Tajfun. Having trouble making up my mind between this winch and the Farmi. Did you look at the Farmi also? Wondering what citeria you used in deciding to go with the Tajfun? Both are most likely good winches.

The Tajfun weighs about 200lbs more has 35' more of a heavier cable, comes with a screen. Hows that for a start?

Hey guys. The Tajfun is awesome and we have guys working them hard. Here is a link and on it are some pictures of one of my customers using the Tajfun. He is using the 4 ton EGV40 A2 with a 43hp LG Montana and is constantly amazed at what this combo will do.

I would not hesitate to buy one.
