My Start

Just letting the community know how much I appreciate the input (even when I'm just reading everybody else's comments). Most people won't understand the attached picture, but this community will, I think.

Attached is about two hours worth of work with my box blade creating a new road bed (over a long since abandoned gravel drive). This road goes from the main road to the start of my land that I own as of 9:30 this morning.

I now have 24 acres of a future lifetime's work in making my nest. This picture is the start, I hope, of my joy on my tractor and I want the community here to share in my good spirits.

For the record...this is my B3300SU (w/LA504 FEL) with a 5ft box blade sitting on my 16 ft tandem axle trailer loaded to go back home at sunset. My BH77 backhoe is resting on it's laurels at home.

Thanks to all who have given to this community in helping me get started.

If I were starting over again, I would also buy a big tract of land.

My wife and i bought 17 acres a few years ago and just finished building a house on it last fall so we are in a similiar situation. The project list is very long but i have enjoyed every minute of it so far. Looks like you have a nice place and a good start, document everything with lots of pictures, it is a blast going back through and seeing what you changed.

To me that picture denotes a very satisfied feeling at the end of a beautiful and productive day. You will have many more. And when things don't go exactly right, shrug it off knowing there are many better days ahead. Congrats.
