Rob I see two very large problems with your house.....It isn't next to mine which of course leads to the second problem of you not being my neighbor. I don't know if you ever motorcycled but clearly the cyclists creed of "Its not the destination but the journey that counts" applies to all of which you do. Nice job.....now what will it take for you and the misses to move to Foster RI. Its only down the road apiece and its got plenty of rocks for you to fill and crack. You will need more firewood however.

Now that is COOL!!!!!!!

My biggest fear is snakes, and even thought I've never seen one in a wood pile, I've thought about it. With me, that's enough to make me nervous about wood piles. Your solution is not only nice looking, but it takes care of that snake issue.
