I had to move my Triumph today so I figured I'd snap a few photos and put them out here.

Thanks! Maybe not for too much longer, the Vette is all but sold. I just had the appraisal done today. I feel just like that boater saying " The best two days in a boaters life, the day he buys his boat....and the day he sells his boat".

The Trump was a free bee from my brother with the understanding that I never sell it. He used to own a bike shop in Lakeville, NY which is just south of Rochester. I think by the time he got out of the business he had something like 14 British bikes he owned. This is the vehicle responsible for me never getting a British car.....scary!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I guess I should have posted this in related topics forum.....next time.

Is that a Bonneville? Whatever, it's gorgeous! I drooled over those for most of my childhood.. never did get one.

Did it turn you off from British cars because it had a Lucas lighting system? I hear that Lucas was called "The Prince of Darkness" due to the electrical systems on those cars. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

It's actually a 1966 T100C which I am told doesn't really have a model name. It's supposed to have the exhaust where both mufflers are on the same side like an enduro. This was a basket case and my brother chose what he liked and parts that had a better design than original. It is only 500cc which makes it a bit lame on the power especially for more than one person. I have never really had one bit of electrical problem with it. My brother made a pretty good living completely rewiring British bikes (Exorcising the Prince of Darkness). My frustration has been more along the line of eliminating oil leaks. I especially like the line that simply allows the motor oil to drip on the chain to keep it lubricated. Makes me wonder if Harley had any British roots./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

MOST of it is a '66. It does have a matching frame and engine number but a lot of the parts are from different years. For example, the front brake assembly is from a '71 which had dual brake pull levers as opposed to just one for better stopping power.

Your Triumph looks very nice./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif When I was in High School ('64-'66), I had a Triumph Tiger Cub (yellow gas tank). It was 250cc and an "okay" little bike, but oil ran out of the wet clutch as fast as I could put it in. I tried everything I could think of to try and stop the leak, but the Brits had a habit of putting covers on with only machined surfaces and no gaskets. If you overtightened or warped a cover, it would leak forever. I remember on the day I traded my Tiger Cub in on a new Honda 450. The clutch was so hot there was smoke coming out of the clutch cable cover at the hand grip. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif I'd love to have that little bike back now. It has to be a collector's item.
