My NX 4510 HST will not start

Hi there,
I guess I bragged too quick. The tractor will not start, just keeps repeated clicking from the relay I just replaced (not it), lots of battery. Any ideas ?

I will be sure to keep tabs on this post. With all the safety switches and such on these machines its hard to tell where to start. My son called me one day saying that ours wouldn't start and it was as simple thing of not having the brake pedals locked together and the contact wasn't made there. They say its for our safety but sometimes I wonder

Sounds like a bad connection either positive cable or negative cable, if the battery has checked good. Also a possibility of being the ignition switch dirty or corroded , is this a cab or open station?

Also, is it HST or gear? And check to make sure the PTO is switched off, move the range selector while trying to crank and see if any of what has been suggested makes a difference.
How many hours on machine? Check fuse box for any corrosion, connections at starter and solenoid, with key OUT of ignition and brake locked and in neutral. Voltage at battery posts? Voltage when she cranks, if she does? And voltage drop when you turn key to crank position?

What relay are you referring to that you just replaced?

The clicking relay symptom really indicates a bad battery or bad battery cable/connections rather than something wrong with the various safety switches. I don't know anything about the NX machines but this is likely a generic start circuit issue. Is the clicking coming from the starter solenoid or an actual relay (like on the firewall)? Does the clicking occur only with the key in crank or whenever the key switch is on? Have you measured the voltage at the battery posts with everything off and also with the key turned to crank? Have you measures the voltage at the starter solenoid big terminal (the one with the battery cable) with the key off and also in crank?

You can blindly replace parts if you want but systemic troubleshooting will probably give you a faster and cheaper fix.

Cycle the brake pedal a zillion times. The brake switch on my 6010 seems susceptible to moisture screwing it up. Cycling the switch a zillion times got mine working again and tyne engine starting.
