I was on craiglist last night just checking out local sales lol. And 20 miles away from me some guy had a leinbach L7400 Post hole digger with 2 augers. Only thing it is missing is the U shaped piece to lift it up and down. I am going to go to tractor supply today and see what they have. And If I cant use it or it dont work with my tractor I will sell it. These things arent cheap!

Well all I can say is you usually get what you pay for. My PHD is 1 of my most prised possessions, In fact anything that has do do with digging post holes. Good luck in your search but you can also make one easy enough

Mornin Eatmytailpipes,
Thats a great price and you can fabricate the piece thats missing but I think you will find that unit is too big for your tractor ! :(

I just bought a 7300 for my MF 1040 for $500, so if you can make or buy the missing yoke, then sell that unit and buy what will work with your machine you will be good to go ! :) Or keep that unit and buy a bigger tractor ! ;)

Well I got some strong enough flat stock and made it so I could lift it. The 3 point lifts it and lifts it high enough to have the auger be off the ground so IDK. I am gonna try it. I need to find a sleeve to fit my pto.

Actually I just heard of a guy that got one for $100, missing one U shaped piece. See they aren't so costly, you just need to look.

That's a good find for $100. Why not call the OEM and see how much the proper part is?

Agree, and you would get the part from the factory that is made for that unit.

I thought you all were "hobby" farmers, that's, you are playing with the things in your free time, with your bucks just for joy. Why not buying a new post hole digger which will shine behind your tractor instead of buying a cheap, old, dirty one?
