Tractor
Kubota L2502
Hi Well after having a second stroke I have decided I need to sell my tractor. My health gets worse not better and do not want wife to have to try to sell. I am going to price it right so I hope It sells quick. Tractor has less than 10 hours so it should make someone a great deal. Life throws us curves we just can not see coming! I will place a add in the classifieds. Thanks

Yes, sorry to hear about the health issues you are having, and am sorry that it makes selling the tractor necessary.
Strokes are a bad thing, but you have to remember that they are not a death sentence..... no disease is. Many of us here have some serious health problems so we understand. Unless the stroke has made it not possible to use the tractor at all, I would tend to hold off on selling it. Mine has kept me going when I didn't really want to get off the couch, and has provided a sense of accomplishment that I wouldn't have without it. Hydraulics, and power sure can make up for some of the things we lose. I'm thinking about putting one of those steps from the B3300 SU on mine to make the on, and off thing easier some days.

Sorry to hear your situation.Everyone has to do what they must do,but as long as I,m able to crawl onto my tractor thats what I choose to do.I,m not giving in till theres just no choice.Using my tractor is one joy I can,t replace with any other hobby.I can,t ride my Harley any more so it sits in my basement for me to see.I refuse to sell it.As I said we all must do what we must but hang on as long as you can.Good luck and best wishes:)Dave

Im sorry to hear life has thrown you that bad curve. :eek:Without knowing the full particulars my second thot is that that little tractor may actually be therapeutic in helping you restore motor skills if you are well enuf to be able to drive it around. ... I wish you well.

Sorry to hear about your strokes, my wife had two, the second one we almost lost her. However after therapy and support she recovered very well. She's back to driving in traffic, working almost full time, and at about 90%.
Given that at 75% she's better than most we feel darn lucky.

So hang in there, life get's better

Good luck with your tractor sale.

Like Chuck, hasty and others, I have physical problems including mobility issues. I bought three sets of aluminum steps to keep in my vehicles for those times I need them to get in and out of tractors, trucks etc. I use my cane to engage 4WD and a nylon strap to disengage. I have an extended "grabber" to pick things up off the floor etc; lots of options available. My tractors keep me active and my Rhino and Grizzly allow me to enjoy time in the woods.

For those of us with limitations, it can surely be frustrating to not be able to do what we once did as I too had to permanently park my Harley last year and can no longer safely run a chain saw, but I think most of us focus on the joys of what we can do without spending too much time on what we can't.

I don't know your situation, but I spent years recovering and would encourage anyone to hold off to see the level of recovery. Time may change your abilities as well as outlook.

If you can't drive a tractor, find something you can do and enjoy to stay active as I have found it much easier to stick with something you enjoy as opposed to exercise equipment though it definitely has its place.

Hope I haven't overstepped any bounds and wish you the best.

Larry

I know you've been aggravated by the issues with the tractor since you got it. Now, with your health setback, I can understand. Hopefully both you and that 2620 will be doing better in the future. Best regards.

I agree completely and hopefully didn't step on any toes as there comes a time when no matter how strong willed a person is, there is just no way to do some things.

I owe a great deal to a supportive wife and family; would be so much harder without them.

I have found having a sense of humor helps too. You should have seen me doing the last service on my L5030. I got my shirt hung up in one of the creeper wheels and wound up with oil all over the place when my drain bucket sprung a leak. By the time my wife and I finished, the money saved didn't seem so important. Of course as time passes, we will wind up doing it again. Our son will be servicing the M8540 though, I want to make it to my 42nd wedding anniversary.

Please understand that we are all pulling for you, but we are also realistic enough to know some things just aren't going to happen. We try not to be sick unless we are, and try to do what ever we can the rest of the time. When I first started my treatments I put a culvert crossing out in my woods so I could access the other half of my land with the tractor, and also easier on snowshoes. ( there is a reason fly fishermen don't wear snowshoes! :D Of course I did it partly to show my sons that my death sentence was perhaps further off than rumor had it. One of my sons asked me how I had done that alone, and I replied that I had perfected the art of brook watching. :D Sure can be frustrating to only get a half hour, or hour on a project when you could have done the whole darn job in a day before.. but the satisfaction of getting it done is worth it.
Just understand that we are here as friends no matter what you decide.

Hi Thanks for all the well wishes,Somedays I am not too bad and others I can not get out of bed. Did not seem worth tying up money in tractor when I could not use it and wife really didnt want to use it. So the tractor is gone! Guy came and looked at it and came back hour later with the cash. We will try to get by for awhile and see how things go for me. Thanks again

Hope you stick around TBN. Tractor is not required. I wish you a speedy recovery.

All good wishes to you. I know from experience what you are going through and how frustrating it can be. Keep up your spirits, though, and enjoy the blessing of family and friends. Along with your faith, they are the most important parts of your life. I hope the little Kubota gave you some good times to think about. You have friends here as well... so don't be a stranger!

Unless you've been typing via an eye scanner or by blowing on a tube, the fact that you're on the computer is very encouraging.

My uncle suffered a stroke that turned him into a vegetable, from which he never recovered or improved. He couldn't do anything, the least of which move or talk. Seems like you, on the other hand, have a lot to be hopeful for. :)

Here's hoping that you're back on another Kubota in no time at all. :drink:

Hope things go well for you, healthwise. Sounds like you are preparing for the possiblity of the worst, but if that time does come and you have to leave this life, I hope you have placed your hope in Jesus Christ. I have good word that he has prepared a great Kubota extravaganza for many of us on here to enjoy when our time comes.
