Ahhh my dad was a Ford tractor mechanic from about 1952 to 1970. I always bragged that he could take one of them apart and put back together blindfolded. He did buy one in 1985 to restore and use on his lake place. It was a fine looking rig when he got done with it.

If restoring it I sure hope you have fun doing it. They are a fun tractor.

That is an American, knuckle skin collector and band-aid attractant! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Good looking project, that should keep you busy for a while.

Ok Soundguy I have to ask how much did you pick up that guy for (if you don't mind me asking)? Does it run?

Is this to take care of the new property you and the wifey were going to buy? and what happened to the Ford 8000 did ya pass on it or pass on the property?

Interesting place for those rear-facing work lights. Are the headlights back behind the seat somewhere? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Actually, it should be a lot of fun putting back in shape. How are the mechanicals?

Great Tractor. Father-in-law and Uncle-in-law share a '53 Jubilee. FIL rebuilt the engine about 4-5 years ago. Still has the 6V electrics and runs like a top. We were supposed to rebuild the hydraulics this past winter but didn't get roundtuit. Makes you wonder how many of the new CUTs will still be cooking in 2053.

Have fun.

Yeah.. starts right up, and sounds decent. Has got a squeaky belt on the alternator.. but the engine sounds good.

3pt goes up and down. with the clutch in or out... nice..

Actually havn't passed on either yet. The land is still up in the air, and the ford 8000 isn't going anywhere fast, as the guy who owns it is pretty much in the hospital for as long as he has left..

The jubilee /naa was bought as a project tractor, and was comparibly cheaper than I thought it was going to be... based on the prices of used jube's in that condition in the area.

Exactly what I thought... I had never seen the 'rare' operator platform illumination lights... figured this ones a keeper!
As you guessed, the bracket for the 'headlight' is on a fender.. but is missing! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Actually starts fairly easy, and the 3pt goes up and down.

I think that thing is crying out for a handcrank to be sticking out of that hole in the bottom of the grille.

1st thing I'd do is mount a drink holder to it. Then, and only then, hitch it up to something and work it. P.S. you gotta have a place to put a beverage whenever you have to handcrank it. Otherwise, they'll (your beverage that is) invariably get spilled.
Good Luck!
