My last month at work.

After retirement the work really starts. No days off, no holidays, always something that need to be done. Like being at work 24/7.

Good luck with your retirement.

I retired seven years ago, and have been busy ever since. There is something great about being able to call my own shots as you say.

I retired out of the aerospace industry, and two months ago a friend at church told me about the company he works for which is developing a new space launch technique. I never thought I would work for someone else again, but I am doing a little consulting for an outfit that needs someone with my experience.

Congratulations for making it this far with your sanity intact! (It is intact, isn't it? :D) You'll probably find yourself busier after retirement than when you were working.

It'll be five years of retirement for me come the end of the month...how time flies!

I appreciate all of the good words. Getting a clear perspective is always half the job. TBN folks certainly have the knowledge and experience to provide that!
Have a good day all!
I can here that robin singing now!

Congrats! A lady I work with is retiring this year too. She went to school where she is teaching, and has spent the last 30 years in the same room teaching Kindergarten. All told she has 50 years of being in the same school. Enjoy retirement, and enjoy a stress free September :)

That is so true, days of the week don't even register, have to look at the date on the computer just to see what month it is. Every day is a work day unless I deem it a non-work day just to relax. Weekends used to be for catching up on my homework and recreation but when you buy acreage, it seems everyday there is something to do. This is good though as it keeps your body and mind occupied rather than becoming a couch potato and dying 1 year or less after retirement.
