I have an older KK 5' and have two observations-

1) without a chain or swivelling top link you can easily bend the supports on a cutter on uneven terrain.
2) while transporting over some really bumpy furroughs recently, the simple bouncing of my rig was enough to bend the top link supports slightly out of alignment. I was able to get is straight without alot of effort, but keep in mind that the supports are designed for hanging force, so any up and down (especially upward) forces will bend it easily. I dont know how you could bend the entire deck pan, but the forces back there on rough terrain are quite high. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

that must be what happend,it binded and bent the frame/pins.thanks guys.ps.should i use a chain as a top link?

I use a chain, but there has recently been a big discussion on that point. You will need to use a chain or slip coupling or something like that though.

If you do have the U-bracket, these mods might be of interest. KK Mods

i have the u bracket.i like these mods posted above.i think my top link may be too long.i have it adjusted as short as it will go and the mower is binding going over rough ground.i will check the movement of the u bracket today.my lower links are adjustable so maybe by extending these out further i will get more up/down movement on the mower?bws

No, I don't, but those were pix from someone else's tractor, that does. It was someone from TBN that had posted on a thread. By time I did the webpage, I lost who actually provided them /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I took pictures of mine, but haven't got them scanned yet (yep non-digital still) /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
