MY Kind of Bushhogging !!!

This is about the easiest job I have ever done.

Guy wants it done once a month. Smooth as a yard. 3 acres. And only 0.7 miles from the house.

Just did it this morning. Left my house @ 8:10, and rolled back in the drive @ 9:20. About 10 minutes total travel time. So 3 acres cut in ~1 hr. Was mowing with the 6' cutter in 2H which IIRC is just a tick under 6mph. 3H jumps to like 8 or 9MPH and that out-runs the cutter.

$100 job in just over an hour:thumbsup: I only wish I could get more like this

That's about the going rate for such things from someone doing it as a business. Land maintenance isn't considered "safe" work by insurance companies and the premiums for running such a business are high. Generally it is the insurance costs that determines the rates they charge. Couple that with high machine purchase and repair costs and $60-$100 per hour is not uncommon.

Yep, keep it mowed often and you can really fly.

Some of the jobs I have been into this year, really thick dense stuff, would have taken 3x longer per acre. The stuff that is really working the tractor in 3L and ocassionally have to kick down to 2L (which is like a snails pace).

Id do jobs like this all day long for $100. Well, maybe only 5 of em and be done by 1:drink:

Its 4 acres, same as his lot but his house occupies 1 acre. I quoted him 250 cause its so dense. That one will probably take 3-4 hours if I get it.

You dont want to underwork that brushhog, maybe you should get a finish mower. Nice job. That sounds like a rather reasonable rate to me.
