It's a little late to ask now but I was wondering if the price I paid for my tractor was in the ballpark or too much. I didn't do a lot of research into it so I was at the mercy of the dealer.
I didn't come across this web site until after I bought it.
It's a new JD5205 with mfwd, 521 fel, 2 mid scv's, 1 rear scv, joystick controller, canopy, grill guard and rear 7 pin connector. They also loaded the tires for me. R1 16.9-28 and 9.5-24. I saw a engine block heater cord so it might have a cold weather package.
I paid $25,550 for it. Be kind.

Discounts tend to vary by region. The midwest-Texas area seems to do the best, both coasts and especially the northeast not so good. Your price seems to be in the ballpark, but if you really want to know, just go out to the Deere site and do a 'build and buy' session with all your options. Don't forget freight, etc.,.

If your total is in the ballpark of 15% off of list, you did fine. Any more discount then than and you did good.

And as many folks here will tell you - having a good dealer you're comfortable with is far more important than the absolute lowest bottom line.

It sure sounds like you did to me! I would not even think about it.

That seems like a really nice tractor and, again, to me, the price seems very good.

If I had that as a new tractor I would be out moving dirt or knocking trees down and not even worry about the price.

Go have fun and wear the paint off it.

I'm in Tennessee. I'll give that a try, it should give me a good idea. Thanks for the reply.

5105 here, new 05 model, mfwd, loader-ready, no rear scv, for 19,500. i felt like i got an awesome deal moneywise - e mail me privately and i will tell you why i feeel that way.

just doing the math, if you bought your 5205 in my area for that price it would be a steal.
