Pvc waste lines. They were pressure tested before the foundation was poured. But Now that the vent pipes are connected I had to test again, which meant digging up the septic lines outside, putting in a T and blocking the line. Inspector said we can go 6 inches above the highest flood line which would be the sink. I did that and one of the bent pipes failed and was leaking. So I cut out the joint that leaked and replaced it. The joint held but I had to use slip coupler and that kept leaking. I finally got it to hold tonight. it was like ground hog day. Same thing over and over. It was exhausting

Is there a treason you have to install a T and then seal it with an airbag rather than cutting into the line and installing a temporary cap?

so that when I am done, I can screw a cap in, and cover it with dirt. plus if it leaked....and it did...I would have to cut the cap off. I can just pull the plug...but the T and plug definitely cost more.

I have never used a pvc slip coupler like you used. I always have used the rudder boot coupler, never had a leak. I could see where if you didn't get enough glue on the pipe and slip coupler it would rub away as you turn to slip it in place.

So now you are waiting for the inspector to come out and sign off on the waste vent system ? Then its drywall time !!!!!!

In all this madness this summer....how is the apple orchard doing ??

Yeah, we have always used the rubber boots too. Easy and reliable. The PVC slip couplers are a crapshoot sometimes when the piping size is large.

It was looking really good. We had a storm that dropped a tree on the fence and In the course of 5 days, deer and bear wiped it out. I have so many other things happening right now that all I could do was shake it off and keep moving. Maybe they were just saving me work when I can’t afford to be away from the house. There were 3 ripe apples left when I went into the orchard. I ate all three.

I have been told that the inspector won’t approve new work with rubber boot so I didn’t even try.

Thanks. I was running late today so I forgot to post a link here. I have been running solo today because Jefanna needs to stay with Lauren. She has not been improving. We have an appointment Monday with a GI.
It is very difficult to get an appointment. 10 years ago you could call and get an appointment in a matter of days, but the medical system is terribly oversubscribed these days.
