I personally know one person in Ontario, Canada, who was caught via satellite image scanning between certain dates, given 30 days to move a large mobile home that was set up on a property without the proper permits, or they would he heavily fined. It got moved very quickly, to avoid a lot of fines and headaches.

Satellite image scanning is used by USDA and down to local FSA offices to monitor AG land and it's uses. Those trying to misuse the land are opposed.

The majority of what we did last week was farm work. Barely touched the house. Got back in there this weekend and started fixing some issues. Separated my lights from outlets on the master side.

I can’t keep up with my outdoors work. When I was building I barely had time to mow the yard.

So I had one if the Propane guys come out today to give me a quote on installing a tank to rent. For my usage he recommended a 500 gallon tank which would cost $4,750 to purchase. I want to rent at first to see if I can find a decent price on a tank to purchase. I don’t expect the market to be like this forever.
Because of my projected usage, they can’t rent me a 500 gallon tank, only a 320 gallon.
Let that sink in. They recommend a 500 gallon tank but tell me that my usage doesn’t justify rental of a 500 gallon tank.
Rental on the 320 would be $70 per quarter. So $280 per year.
Installation of the tank would be $2,288.77 total, that includes
265 gallons of propane for $805.29
A trip fee of $95
Permit fee of $165
Labor $600
Materials. $350
Plastic pipe. $22
Regulators and tracer wire. $200

I have been back on the internet looking for a used tank. There is nothing closer than Maryland or north Carolina as far as businesses go and nothing closer than 100 miles for private sales that I can fine. I don’t know what is involved in transport of a large tank but at these prices I am curious.

Wow. Our house was all electric and we put a gas fireplace in about 20 years ago. The local gas company delivered a 500 gallon rental tank, installed it, buried the line, and put up a regulator for $0, but I could only put their gas in it. Three or four years later we installed a gas furnace, and I bought a freshly refurbished 460 gallon tank for $500. Back then you could buy a tank for about $1 per gallon size.

A natural gas pipeline came through about then, so I think that helped. Now, it seems like you can find them on Craigslist for $2 per gallon size if you are patient.

There are so many 1000 gallon tanks around here that people don't use any more.... I've seen them go for $15 at auction sales. I could line up 3 or 4 in no time at all. It's only a 37 hour drive...one way.

I am actually thinking about driving to Pennsylvania to buy a 500 gallon tank for $2,650. New tank made in Tennessee. I wish there was a way to pick one up in Richmond VA. So many warehouses there, somebody must carry them. I just cant seem to locate them.
