That's a good idea. One issue I would see, where would I walk when pushing the mill? Stepping between the braces would be dangerous and annoying overtime.

I think I will make what you said with a 3 foot gap between it and the sawmill and then when I need a lay down a bridge and roll then across.

Turn the saw around and load from the other side?

I thought about that too, but didn't want to deal with the dust on that side. But it might be better, I could scoop the dust up and spread it about easier that way. Maybe.....

This not having pallet forks or a grapple is killing me!

Moving these logs with chains and log dogs is not my kind of "Fun", that is a fact....ugh

One thing to consider about the grapple vs. the forks. You will be able to lay a log down gently on the carriage with the grapple. just dump down until the log is on the carriage and then open the jaws.. I have moved lots of rocks with both forks and grapple, but a grapple lets you set them down precisely and gently. I have set many precisely on the rock wall I am building. You don't have that kind of control with forks. They slide when they slide. Don't get me wrong, I have move both logs and rocks with the forks, and used them for several years that way, and I have both, but I am not getting rid of my grapple. Both have their uses.
